Dr. Katherine Epps, DSW, LCSW
Hello
I’m Katherine Epps a practitioner and scholar experienced in community forensic social work. When I first entered the field, I often felt unsure of how to best support my clients and was overwhelmed. I cared deeply about providing holistic, ethical support to justice-impacted individuals, but I struggled to find accessible, practical resources that could guide my day-to-day work. Over the years, I learned that I was not alone.
Research shows that many new social workers enter this field feeling ill-equipped, isolated, or uncertain about how to put theory into practice.
I created this website to bridge that gap. My goal is to offer a supportive space for social workers who are currently working in, or have interest in, community forensic practice. Here, you will find educational materials, practical tools, and shared learning that can help you navigate the unique challenges of this work.
Most importantly, I hope you find reassurance that you are not alone and that you have a community of practitioners who believe in growth, shared knowledge, and second chances. Together, we can help our communities move beyond the sentence and toward meaningful healing and restoration.
