Community FSW
Community Forensic Social Work bridges the spaces between the criminal legal system, mental health care, and the community. It supports individuals impacted by incarceration, probation, parole, or court involvement through meaningful engagement, compassion, and continuity of care.

Practitioners may work within probation and parole systems, courts and legal settings, correctional or behavioral health agencies, and community programs, or alongside them, to coordinate services and advocate for sustainable support. The goal is to build responsive systems that recognize each person’s strengths and capacity for growth.

This practice emphasizes the connection between individual recovery and community wellness. It brings together collaboration, creativity, and care to ensure that people returning to their communities are met with stability, respect, and the resources needed to succeed.

Community Forensic Social Work views people as more than their circumstances. It centers dignity, healing, and connection as essential parts of reintegration, helping individuals and communities move forward together.
